Yes they can. If a corporation establishes a dress and grooming code, you either have to follow it, or work somewhere else. Image plays a big role in a lot of corporations. There is nothing wrong for asking men to keep their hair short and be well shaven. |

Yes if it is in writing in the companies policies and procedures or employee manual. |

Probably, the New York Yankees are a corporation of sorts, and their players have to be clean shaven. |

Yes, it's a dress code thing. They can pretty much put anything under that category that you can help. |

Each company is allowed to establish their own code of dress. |

Each company has its own set of rules, and if they choose to they can. |

Yea usually companies will have something saying to the fact that it has to be reasonable, neat etc.
I've actually heard that employees of Disney World are not allowed to have facial hair unless it is part of their character. |

"Allowed??" Allowed by whom?
Unless you're living in a Communist dictatorship, an employer has every right to establish the rules for his business, just as you have every right to establish the rules for your home. |

Yes.
A corporation can insist all kinds of crazy things of you. They own you while you are on the clock, and they have influence over your time OFF the clock. Employers can't discriminate against workers based on age, gender, race, disability, national origin, or religion. But unless state law says differently, all other characteristics are fair game, including your political leanings and even what you wear outside of work. |

Yes they are. Depending on the safety factor. If you have to use self contained breathing apparatus facial hair could compromise the seal of the mask and put you in harms way. Firefighters are not allowed to have facial hair for this reason. Industrial workers who work with chemicals also for the same reason. Safety First |

Yep. They do make the rules... If you think you're being discriminated against because of ethnic or racial concerns then that's cause for complaint... |

Yes, The owner of the corporation is allowed to have whatever employees he wills. And if you don't like it, you can go somewhere else. I believe that a man can be even racist against which employees he or she wants, even though racism is very wrong and even absolutely stupid... we live in America! we have the right to own something as we want!
Please don't think that I am racist at all. I Hate slavery and all racism but chinese restaurants should be allowed to have all chinese employees if they wish right? This is America. |
