Schools always try this crap.
I can understand that there are students who abuse the hall passes, and "go to the restroom" when they really don't have to go.
HOWEVER, it has always seemed to me that a bunch of college-educated professionals could find a better way to manage the situation without causing kidney and bladder damage to children.
Have your parents talk to the principal.
If that doesn't work, and you REALLY do have to go, then GO.
Or else tell the teacher that you will go on the floor, right in front of the class.
That will shut them up.
That's what I always told my son to do.
He never had a problem. |

Yes because you have passing time. Go during passing time. In my entire high school and middle school career, I never once used those passes. I loved getting them, it was basically free extra credit at the end of the semester. |

You have your time between classes to go. If you manage your time correctly, as you should be able to do at your age, you'll have little problems. If your teacher doesn't give you permission to go, and you walk out your libel to receive detention, a visit with the principal, etc.
There are several reasons for such rules, examples being it's a disruption for the teacher to be asked, you miss part of the lesson, issues with students tagging the bathroom, going to vending machines, meeting up with other students, disrupting other classes by being loud, just to name a few. If you're turning red and squirming you'll be released to go.
You have a choice, act your age and use the bathroom before class so that you don't interrupt your teacher and miss out on the lesson, or talk to your friends and suffer later.
**A parent who'd recommend to their child to disregard school rules and "just go" when those rules are enforced is a large contribution to the knuckleheads that have nothing to offer other than whining and disrespect. |

You must ask permission and follow the rules.
When your parents signed papers for you to attend, they teachers were given the power by law.
You will see how important this is when you grow up, even though it seems silly now. Well, it is silly.
Anyway, follow the rules, OK? Great! |

They'll let you go if you say you need to. The point of limiting the passes is to point out that you should be going before or after a class rather than during, but there's no way they'll keep you from going if you really need to. |

Well it kinda depends on your school policy but if you have to go you have to go. If your parent/guardian will stand up for you just walk out. Then when you get in trouble and you probably will have your parents take it up with the principle. Idk if they could get in legal trouble. As long as your not abusing the "passes" the principle should back off you. To avoid it all together try to go between classes. |

They are required to let you go, but not at any time you want. They have the right to say wait until lunch, or whatever. If there is an unreasonably long period without a break (say 4 hours or more), then perhaps you could do something. But there is no law protecting your right to leave class. |
