No I am totally 100% for exucting those wastes of life known as child molesters, murderers, and psychopaths. I think every state should put in an express lane to the electric chair when it comes to executing these pathetic wastes of a perfectly good human body. Instead they let them set in jail for years and years and file appeal after appeal and waste tax payers money feeding them and providing them with everything they need. My opinion is when the forensics proves, without a doubt, they are guilty for the crime, fry them right then and there. And in some cases I would actually support going back to the old method of hanging, or even castration for those child molesters, I think America is too soft on some of these people. And no, I don't think they should have any rights to anything. Once they cross that line, their rights should go right out the window.

Kill every Jack@$$ involved in the twin tower incident

No I am not against it. Execution should be a possible punishment for those that have committed murder. Especially when it is premeditated.

child killers should be executed

anyone that commits murder without remorse, those who sell drugs to children and teens, we live in a society now that is full of prisons of people that have killed others and just got sentenced to either life or the minimum sentence due to some technicallities. Drugs are a serious issue and is effecting our future generation while they are young

Obviously I am not against it.

Yes because for some people it is a reward rather than punishment, especially if there is nothingness after death. It depends on one's belief of after death

For some crimes, like killing, kidnapping or raping children I think they should bring back public hanging!

I support the death penalty. If someone takes the life of another human being, then their life should be forfeit as well. I believe it is not a matter of popular opinion, but a matter of God's word, beginning in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. According to Genesis 9:6, if a murder was committed, permission has been given to man to take the life of the murderer, one who dared violate the Creator’s command not to kill His special creation, made in His image.
Furthermore, if it were always wrong to take life, there would be no point in police wearing guns, as it would be clear to criminals that they could never use them, even when defending themselves against a life-threatening attack. It would also have been immoral, wrong, and evil for Allied troops to use weapons and deadly force to wrest Europe from Hitler’s thugs and liberate people from the death camps.
Arguments rage over whether the death penalty is a deterrent or not. But such human opinions are ultimately not the issue–what counts are the Maker’s standards. Of course, if convicted murderers on Death Row were to repent and become truly converted, their sins (all of them) would be forgiven on the basis of Christ’s atoning sacrifice, and they would not have to face the ultimate penalty, what the Bible calls ‘the second death.’ But the state would still have the right, if not the duty, to carry out the just penalty for their murderous actions.

I am not against execution, per se. However, the process we currently use to get there is so badly flawed that I cannot support it at the moment.

Yes I am.

There is criteria in order for a case to be DP eligible.

Btw....rape is NOT a capital crime. You can check with your state to see what crimes are considered capital crimes.

I am against it b/c first, there is no proof that the DP is a deterent. Second b/c is is unfairly applied....why does a man that murders one person get it and someone who murders 50 dosen't? Also both race, gender and class factor in(accordng to studies)...is that fair? Should we really be executing children? What about the ones that have been put to death already(even though they may very well have been innocent) or the ones that have been recently exonerated?

the ole ball and chain
i'm from Texas so i'm all for it the crimes that you would deserve execution are rape of a child, killing an animal for no reason, murder, drug dealers (and not weed)

i am, i believe if you took someone elses life and he doesn't deserve it, then your life should be taken too.

Execution as we know it, is not terribly effective. THe whole point of execution (or any punishment for that matter), is to control future crimes. However, if an execution takes 15-20 years to carry out, the control is lost.

Did you know a crack dealer in the Chicago slums has a 20% chance of being killed in gang warfare each year. Did you know a death row prisonor has about a 6.6% chance of being put to death each year?

Futhermore, a huge percentage of crimes are comitted (especially the horrific ones) by people who are mentally crazy or given no chance in life.

Lastly, I personally could never pull the trigger, flip the switch, kick the chair to kill another person. I just feel that I am better than the killer and if there is a god (not sure if I believe in one but.), it would not want me carrying out the the execution.

What do you think?

Burak B
I totally support execution. Killing someone, excluding self defense or accidents, is crime that should be punished by execution. It is quite easy to say i am against execution, it also seems quite humanistic. But think it this way, love of your life, or your son/daughter, or your parents, or the person which you cared most is killed by some idiot (without a second thought), by someone who do not care about human life, what would you do? Let him go to prison and come out from good behavior? I wouldn't. Prison ain't enough for ending someone's life.

Grandma Susie
yes, murderers, child molesters, traitors, terrorists, abortionists, and satanists should be executed.

♥haggisbasher♥
There is no place in human society for child killers, rapists and murderers.

I am against execution because it is murder, even if that person murdered someone. It does not help curb crime either. Look at Texas. Texas has executed more people than any other state and you still have high crime rates.

One reason I am against it is because it is applied so unfairly. It all depends on how much money you have.

I'm all for the death penalty, but they really should expedite the process. What's the point of wasting tax payers dollars having them sit in a prison cell while we feed them??? If there guilty, and are sentenced to death, they should be put down within the week. Oh, and screw the lethal injection, we should start hanging them again. A rope is much cheaper. Why waste good money on garbage?

Yes. I think there are plenty crimes for which people might deserve to be executed but I also believe there are a lot of people who die but deserved to live..Unless you have the power to give them back life you shouldn't be too quick to sit in judgment. However I also think that life imprisonment should mean life. If someone is executed the impetus to prove them innocent dies with them so maybe some people have been executed in error in the past. Death is so final there is no going back, I wouldn't like to be the one who sat in judgment. Also there doesn't seem to be any evidence that it acts as a deterrent to major crime.

i do believe that murderers shouldie but i do not belive in the government trying to fulfill that becase recent research showed that 129 of the people executed by the US government alone that had thier cases re-examined were found inocent.

I am against the death penalty. I do not believe that a human being has the right to take the life of another person.

i'm against cause rotting in jail is a far worse punishment than getting killed
