It is all objection and judgment! I want to ban women in public on their period! There are hospitals full of sick young fat people who can not stop putting food in their mouth. As their are old dieing smokers. We foot the larger portion of the bill for the long term sick fat addicted people.Do some research and you will have to agree with him it is a very similar PROBLEM. |

You are absolutely correct when you say obesity is just as dangerous as smoking but you are incorrect about the reason. Smoking affects not only the person smoking but it affects the people around them literally. Second hand smoke kills innocent people. Obesity while being dangerous does not affect anyone except the obese person. Sure it may inconvenience some people who try to sit next to an obese person or it may not be pleasureable for someone who is shallow to look at but it does not harm anyone literally. That is the difference. |

Ask some sensible Q?
Can u Stop eating |

dude, ban neither, obviously
but no one can ban you from smoking in your house, they've based most of the anti smoking laws off of the second hand smoke thing, which is neither here nor there based off your interpretation of the research |

Banning smoking is miles away from banning junk food. If I am sitting next to you in a bar and you are smoking, I am forced to smoke as well. If I am sitting next to you in a fast food restaurant and you choose to order super-sized portions of whatever glutton is on the market, I am not forced to ingest any of it. |

They are both caused by lifestyle, granted. They both affect others, granted. So let's start taxing fast food as much as we tax tobacco and everything will be fair, right? Everyone will be free to make their lifestyle choice and help to pay for the costs of the effects. |

There's no such thing as secondhand fat. Not even with your weak "you're teaching my kids" example. |

OMG if i hear this dumba** argument one more time i'm gonna freak out. Obesity doesn't hurt other people, second hand smoke does. The problem isn't about smoking in a private residance or something like that, but most non-smokers don't want to have to sit there and inhale cigarette smoke just because you have a bad habit, no one gets fat because they are sitting next to a fat person, okay, get it? |

BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE'S FAT CAN'T CAUSE SOMEONE ELSE CANCER !
GO KILL YOURSELF,NOT ME AND MY FAMILY !
IT SMELLS TOO...
U THINK I WANT MY 2 LITTLE GIRLS INHALING YOUR NASTY HABIT?
WHY SHOULD THEY SUFFER?
THEY AREN'T BANNING IT CAUSE THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR HEALTH, BUT THE HEALTH RISK YOU CAUSE INNOCENT OTHERS.
OMG DUDE,COME BACK WITH A DECENT ARGUMENT...THAT'S SO STUPID...IF YOUR SO WORRIED ABOUT HEALTH?WHY SMOKE? YOU WILL BE THE ONE CAUSING YOUR OWN KIDS SICKNESS. |

Totally agree with mo-Z. Offended or not, bigger people aren't physically hurting you by being in your proximity. Second hand smoke kills. It must be nice to live in your world, where apparently you are perfect. |

It is way harder to lose weight than quit smoking.....you have to eat to live, you can't quit it altogether and get it out of your system like you can tobacco. A very large part of the obesity problem is due to the FDA. They are all in cahoots to get and keep people fat so that they can keep them going to the doctors and get their drugs. It is no mistake that the Food and Drug Administration are lumped together. |

Great idea, but how do you propose to do that? |

you are an idiot! it doesn't matter if someone makes a pig of themselves, i'm not going to get fat from watching you eat!
but if you smoke, i can inhale your second-hand smoke and get cancer! |
|

Who am I? Who are U?
 |
good idea!!!!!!
but for those who can't control their weight, or it's a medical condition the state would have to offer free gym passes or counciling or fridge locks or lipo's.... |

I agree and just wanted to tell you that! Whoever doesn't agree with you is probably just in denial because the truth hurts, right? Good question, wish I knew the answer! I'm with you though! |

It's the danger it poses to others in the same atmosphere. You may be offended, but it doesn't have the potential to kill you years on down the line simply from being in the same room. |

that will be great, i would like to see in future food packaging the warning " this food may not be good for your health ". by the way i am a bit fat. |

i think because them being fat cant kill you in the way your cigarette smoke can kill people (via second hand smoke which is an absolute killer!)
here they have banned smoking inside workplaces, and its really good. If you want to smoke that totally ur choice, but not of ur workmates to have to go home and wash their clothes a trillion times to get the smell out heeheee. Just like the fat people have to go all the to the staff room to eat ;) smokers have to take a short trip to the balcony. no major really?
although if they were going to try and ban smoking althogether that would be stupid. |

Now now, let's at least give them a tiny patio outside for them all to go and be fat. Their gluttony, by the way, at least doesn't make my jacket smell like Courtney Love. |
