Big time problem... is it legal?

Hi.. I am 26 and my boyfriend is 27. We plan on getting married in October. we have a slight problem... He is already married to this women she is indian and he is srilankan... They got married in the temple and signed the paper there and didn't get it registered in the court or with either embassy's. They needed 3 months for the no objection from the both govt. They never had the time because they had to shift country for work now his wife didn't have the visa to come with him so he never registered the marriage in the court or either of the embassy.. They made a false marriage certificate showed it at the immigration and got the visa for the wife. They lost that certificate also... Now he wants to leave her coz its not working out and she doesnt want to divorce him... If the marriage is not legal then how to get the divorce?? is it going to be a problem?? She was out of the country for 4 months... but now she is back and she is not willing to let go of him... she is staying here not with him or his house she is at his aunts place we cant throw her out and she wants a furnished house a car a job and she wants him to give her money every month she says you can marry whom ever you want but i wont give you a divorce... what should we do?? she is such a freaking hypocrite.. All this that has happened is her own fault she just wants him for his money. What is the damage she can make?? My family and his family have met and they planning on our wedding in October... can she damage anything??
Please help.. really confused

If something happened in the future~~*she* could have rights to this mans assets~~better to get a lawyer now and find out as wait for later and get sued for bigamy

I'm certainly no expert, but, I'd say if there IS any written record of their marriage, she will use it-if soon enough, to prevent your marriage, if later, to break you up.

You need to see a lawyer who has extensive knowledge of international law...it may be expensive, but it won't be as much as the furnished house, new car, and regular alimony his wife wants, plus your own expenses.

A good international lawyer is the best investment you can make towards your future together. See if any friends or relatives know of any...if not, your embassy should know of some. And, good luck!

Well look at it this way....you aren't OUTSOURCING any jobs to India :).

But seriously though. Are you in America right now? Because as far as you're concerned there's no marriage certificate. Marry the dude. Tell her to go work at Curry-Chicken-to-go.

Well looks like a big problem but not at all, the marriage was never registered so its just like it never existed in legal eyes, in a court's point of view, so you could go on with your marriage and she can't say anything because neither have any papers.

Should non-lenient sentences be made mandatory for serious crimes?
You've heard the type of case, where someone is killed, but the perpetrator gets off with a ridiculously lenient sentence, here's a recent example:
