CPS involved with my ex wife. What to expect?

I just returned home from a 15 month deployment about 3 months ago. I have seen my kids a few times now. I got a phone call last night from CPS (child protective services) They got 2 reports this past week on my ex wife and her boyfriend for possible abuse. They informed me they had asked her boyfriend to leave the house, and will be checking on the kids through out the weekend. They also asked me if taking the kids would be an option or my parents (of course I will take them in a heart beat) I was told next week CPS will call me for this hour long meeting to decide what is best for my children. CPS already knows I am military, and I am willing to do what it takes for my kids. I have fought for them in the past and the courts decided she was the better parent due to me being in the military.
I am wondering what should i expect at this meeting?
Has anyone dealt with anything like this in the past?
IF it was nothing and someone over reacting would it be like this?
We live in 2 different states!!
Will CPS come here to check things out if they decide I get them.

If you are not able to give me any advice and can not say anything nice please don't say anything. I have done everything by my court order. I already feel bad enough and wish it would of been different. IF CPS decides my kids can stay with her, I plan on taking her back to court once again.

You need to have a chat with your superior officer about what might or could happen should you be given custody. You may have to leave the military as you couldn't go overseas if you have children to care for. Also, to be totally honest, you need a lawyer...a good one...that specializes in difficult child custody cases. You need someone to stand up and fight for you as I am pretty sure that your ex is going to make this very difficult for you. So, please don't rely on advice you get here but go get yourself the best lawyer you can afford!
