These so called people you defend should themselves be classified as subhuman. Their morals have been twisted so badly that they believe you "a peace loving person" to be a demon. If you were a prisoner of their group, they would not think twice about torturing you to death to gain any information possible. Water boarding is a mental form of torture and so is sleep deprivation. In order to succeed in freeing the people from the hold of the insurgents we need strategic information which the captives will not give freely with promises of humane treatment and a better life. Therefor more extreme measures of gaining information are needed. And Obama is a traitor to the US for releasing classified information. He, I believe did this for his personal gain. His world approval rating dropped a bit. He will sell out this country to make himself liked in the eyes of the world.

You are right through certain extent but when that information revealed can do good to a large section of people and also save their life or change it drastically then it can be assumed as right. However opinions may differ under different conditions and way the person extracting information behaves. State of mind and level of thinking can also affect.

Well, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. The "Stockholm Syndrome" where captives come to obey and even align with their captors works just as well with terrorists as with any other group of people who may consider themselves hostages. So, if you have time to get information, it is better to get it by developing a relationship. (And it is far more likely to be accurate.)

On the other hand, if someone has information about a bioweapon placed to pollute a reservoir used as a source of drinking water for 10 million people, and it is set to go off in 5 hours, he is likely to become friends with electricity and to be missing his teeth and fingernails and toenails and of course the location of the bomb, and I won't raise a word of objection.
