Can I Plead Unsafe Driving in NJ?

I was pulled over for "speeding" 77 in a 45. Can i plead unsafe driving and not get any points? And if so how would I go about doing this. I really need to know I can't seem to find any info on this situation. Please help.

NO but you can offer to take a defensive driving course when you appear before the judge and if you complete it and show proof on your appointed return date, you can keep it off your record.

I work in NJ. 77 in a 45 is going pretty fast. What most likely will happen is the prosecutor will offer to have the points lowered, but not dropped completely. You are looking at a lot of points, and when that many are involved, you will walk away with some. If you had gotten a careless driving ticket only, then you have room to ask for an unsafe driving ticket. You could also take the defensive driving course and have pts. taken off your license. Talk to the prosecutor and plead to a lesser charge, that is your best bet. I don't know any judges that will let you walk away with no points after a 77 in a 45.

You can't plea bargain unless the prosecutor agrees to the plea. You're guilty, accept the consequences, and slow down before you kill someone.
