First of all I live in Mass where you are only charged a fine if you are found to be in possession of an ounce or less of marijuana.
Police found marijuana and vicodin and concerta (form of adderol) in my car, along with a scale, and a bowl.
The officer took all these possessions however only issued me a fine for the marijuana.
I was told that I may be charged of a felony or may be summoned to court, however some people have told me that because I was not "arrested on the spot" nothing can really happen.
Additional Details
The only thing the officers gave me was a fine for $100 that states it is for possession of marijuana. I was not given anything for any of my other items.
The police never asked to search my car, however I assume they had probable cause.
I was questioned by a police officer and handed all my illegal possessions over to him prior to being read my Miranda rights by a different officer.

totally not true... if you have a subpoena to you you HAVE to go to court. no questions asked. if you dont then you will be arrested and held in contempt |

The case would be turned over to the Prosecutor's office and they will decide what to do. There is a time limit as to how long they can wait until they could bring up additional charges. Why would you have that in your car. The only way to get off would be that it is an illegal search. That is why you when the police ask you if they can search your car you say no. |
