Can I fight my license suspension or get the suspension shortened?

5 years ago I became disabled and unable to work. I was therefore unable to pay my child support while applying for social security, so they suspended my license. I didn't know it, I drove unknowingly w/o a license for 2 years before getting pulled over for a bad license plate light. I was arrested and spent the night in jail. about a year ago I drove again (I know,Stupid) My buddy got plastered, and it was drive the 1/2 mile home or have the car ticketed & towed ( as I said, I'm disabled, walking 1/2 mile is not a possibility). I just went to renew my Insurance & was told Im suspended for 3 years. ( more than a second DUI). Can I get a hearing or hire a lawyer to get this changed? I depend greatly on having transportation.
Additional Details
I live in Colorado. I dont have any other violations on my record, no tickets, no accidents. Also my child support is paid up, as it was before my medical issues.

Yes, you can request a hearing with the DMV. It may be as simple as paying a reinstatement fee
