I own a landscaping business in a small conservative, 90+% white area. I advertise in the local paper and was wondering if I can legally write something about who I have working for me. This is not an area that would appreciate "certain types" of people at their home and I thought it could boost business to set their minds at ease.

Well Quizzard, I can tell you a law in the US, I don't know about Canada...
This is the textbook example of discrimination. You cannot advertise a job and say "White's only"... It's against the law in the US. |

If you advertise, have individuals fill out applications, and so on, you can not discriminate against any "protected classes" of individuals.
If you approach people on your own and say "I am hiring, will you work for me," then you can ask whomever you wish. You can hand pick individuals for your own private business - if you are a sole proprietor.
I am not sure of the other types of business entities.
