Can I obtain copies of the case I was involved in as a minor?

I was a victim of abuse as a child. I remember vaguely what happened, and only remember a few counselors I spoke to. Because of some recent events I would like to get copies from the court of anything about the case so I can find out what really happened. I called the courts but they said I can get a copy of the docket but no other files (the clerk rushed me off the phone). I know they filmed me making a statement and they probably recorded me as well.
Don't I have a right to review the files of a case that I was a victim in? As an adult now, I have a feeling my mother coached me into saying certain stuff that might not have happened. I just want to find out the truth. The defendant was also a minor so I am not sure if this causes a problem.

Usually you can't get police reports, evidence, etc., unless you can show some need for them.
I'd suggest you contact the prosecutor's office. We have a person in our office who handles all requests for case file information. It may be they will permit you to examine the file, even if you can't take copies. |

have you talked to the police? the library may have copy's of old newspapers and try and search the internet, or mabey just ask you friends + relitives? :) hope that helps |
