if it's that cut and dry, yes. that is a CLEAR violation of doctor/patient confidentiality |

i would think so unless she disclosed to you in the begining that she would be sharing stuff with both of you. i would call a lawyer though |

One Big Awfull Mistake America

Probably and her license could be revoked. what you need to do is talk with a lawyer and not us on YA!!
Just so you know a counselor is not a doctor( privacy policies are very different ) and if she has reason to believe you were a physical threat to your wife then she has to warn your wife. this is enforced by law. |

Yes you should sue her for everything she's worth. |

In this day & age, anyone can sue anyone for anything.
Based on what little information you've provided, it sounds like you might actually have a case for your lawsuit. It would be worth your time to speak with a lawyer. |

How are you going to prove in a court of law that
information that you divulged to your counselor and your wife's counselor acquired the information and passed it on to your wife? Will your wife testify to that action?
I believe you need to consult with an attorney on this matter.
You can start with the yellow pages to find a lawyer to handle
the case. Just make a few calls. But, you may want to
consult with your divorce attorney first. |

I believe you can its a preach of confidentiality. |

Find a lawyer who does torts. She will know what tort this falls under in your state, as well as the probably damages you will be able to recover. Good luck. |

That was an unethical breach of professional behavior. I am sure your divorce lawyer could recommend a good personal injury lawyer to sue both the therapist and her employer. These types of stories scare me. |
|

.
|
you should be able to |

Who cares ? There will be no justice from a lawsuit. There needs to be a better payback for crimes against people. Your counselor should lose their license and get some broken bones or a ruined marriage out of the deal. Civil lawsuits only help lawyers. |
|

A blank!

Your wife left did she have income?
Or day care if you wife did not work. |

I doubt it; Marriage counseling by definition would require sharing based on the judgment of the councilor |
