First, he let us go out (unsupervised) to the school pond to take samples of water for our experiment. Most of the pupils returned with tadpoles in their beakers.. One group of kids were torturing their tadpole (which they weren't supposed to have) by squashing it with a pencil and spinning it around in the water.. The teacher was well aware of this, and didn't seem to care.
I probably wouldn't complain or take any action, I was just interested.

JeffW, read the damn details. I said I won't take any legal action against him.. I'm not American either. I was just interested in knowing if he was doing anything illegal. "Jeez" to you.

Um, I'm sure letting kids out unsupervised is against school policies, but I'm also pretty sure he'd be able to argue against any punishment since nothing went wrong. It's not like he had you diving into nuclear waste or something, it was the school pond.
As far as the delinquents torturing tadpoles -- even if you could sue for it (which since you weren't damaged, you couldn't, unless it was like for the emotional damage caused to you by watching it happen to the tadpoles), you wouldn't have an action against the teacher. |

1. are you 18? because minors can't file lawsuits.
2. to file a lawsuit, you have to have a cause of action, meaning your suit has to say i am suing Mr. Jones because he violated the following law or legal doctrine. you haven't said here what the basis of your suit would be. |

That's the problem with you kids in America today. All of you want to inundate the courts with frivolous lawsuits. Look, if you have a problem with what he did, confront him about it. If he has an unfavorable reaction, go to the principle. If the principle has an unfavorable reaction, go to the school board. The school board WILL take it seriously and WILL make something happen. There's no reason to bring the court/justice system into this... jeez... |
