Can a property manager give a key to a police officer to enter my home if the police did not show a warrant?

The previous poster is flat wrong.

Yes, the owner owns the place. Your lease, however, gives you the legal right to undisturbed peacable enjoyment of the property. The Constitution gives you the protection from unlawful and unreasonable search.

That means the property manager does not have any right to enter your premises *without lawful reason* ("I was asked nicely by a cop" doesn't cut it) and the police officer (generally) can't enter without a warrant. Similarly, and it should go without saying, a property manager can't allow others to enter whenever they want.

There are some exceptions for entry by law enforcement, but not for property managers to ignore the constitution and several hundred years of tort law.

In some states the answer is yes. You live in the property, but you don't own the property. The property owner/manager can give legal consent to law enforcement to enter the home without your consent.
