Can a 17 yr old in Oregon leave home?

My son keeps saying that when he turns 17 he's leaving home. He says I can't stop him or call the police or anything. I've been doing some research and I keep getting 2 different answers. A friend of mine also said I can't report him as a run away since he is 17 which is almost an adult. I just wanted to know what the law was, since it varies from state to state.

no the age is 18 where the point you can decide things on your own the fact that your friend said that you cant call him in for a runaway because hes "almost" 18 doesnt hold anything because she in fact said "ALMOST!" that doesnt mean anything until the day he turns 18

nas88caror 300 09? way to go BK!
if your unsure of teh law ask a police officer and for most states for a male to leave its 18 ..

The age of consent in Oregon is 18, but if your son can prove that he is fully capable of understanding the consequences of his actions, and he can be reasonably responsible for himself to a judge, then his rights to freedom of mobility will be respected unless you can prove that granting him this right will infringe upon the freedom, rights, and security of himself or others.
