Say there is a small busines....13 employees and 1.4 million in revenue per quarter
The CEO newly appointed by the Owner of the company, but the CEO has a grudge and tries to sue a old corporate enemy on behalf of the company's name. CAN THE CEO sue someone on behalf of the company without the consent of the owner?
Or does the owner have to sign some document which authorizes the company to be a plaintiff?

Generally speaking a CEO can sign a document on behalf of the corporation including a lawsuit
The Board of Directors can drop the suit. Sounds like this guy is out of control and you need a new CEO... |

Depending on the situation and employement agreement the CEO has with the board it can vary if he does have the proper power and authority to file a lawsuit in favor of the company; check your articles of incorporation to see if he has that legal power. |
