He can be sorry but its a bit late then. Anyone can lash out and then appologise later. Its a common behavioural trait amoungst violent abusers. They lash out, then feel guilty and appologetic and then lash out again. Its cyclic |

A real man NEVER hits a woman |

loaded question. but yes it can happen its just very rare as violence against women within a relationship (i assume this scenario is within a relationship) is usually the culmination of a long period of emotiuonal abuse and control - very rarely does violence occur as an isolated event without this. As an isolated event I am sure that a man could be truly sorry and not do it again however as part of an emotionally controlling relationship not only is continued abuse very probable but it's not even the most damaging thing - it is the environment which is created prior to the physical abuse which makes the woman susceptable to "taking it" that does the most damage. |

If a guy hit a girl for no reason, he should be punched so hard and be taught a lesson!!!!! He is considered an abusive dangerous psychopath!!!!!!!!!!! |

If a guy hit a girl once, there is a big chance he will do it again. |

Is it the first time he did it? If he has a history then no I don't think he is suddenly sorry, because he keeps getting away with it so no longer feels the need to be sorry. Does he have a habit of hitting other people? If he commonly starts fights, or pushing people, then I don't think he would be sorry. After all the difference is basically you have someone now hitting a girl, that doesn't mean he can't be pushed in to it again.
If it is a case of someone who was pushed and under stress and lost his head, and isn't normally getting in fights or troubles, then yeah I would think he could be truly sorry and not do it again. However if I was the girl I would keep my guard up for a few days, weeks, months. Thing is a smart girl will keep her guard up, make you PROVE you are sorry and won't do it again. |

I don't think any guy should have the reason or Rights to hit a girl, in the first place.
Noone is raised that way I suppose. Whether you are a girl or a guy.
Cheers :) |

Instead of thinking a man striking a woman, we should be thinking: a human being striking another human being. There are occasions which justify any human being striking another- this whole notion of a man striking a woman is completely out of control in society! |

Some guys do really stupid things when angry. He can be truly sorry sorry for the act but should also ensure that he doesnt repeat it again...thats when he really redeems himself... |

Sure, she can even forgive him, but she should not see him again. That's a deal breaker. |

As long as he doesn't do it again I don't care whether he's truly sorry or not. In my eyes it's physical abuse if a guy hits a girl on purpose. |
