Can a judge tell you who to date and work for?

This is a divorce hearing not a criminal case. As long as she is dating me. She has no rights. No chance of getting visitatioin. Cost etc. I have never been arrested should I talk to the judge or does this put me on trial? I have never been in any trouble.

I own a restaurant /bar. I living with my bar Mgr. (after she filed) Nothing before hand. I know Should not date help. It just happeened. When she went for her Court. The judge told her right out as long as she was with me in any way he was giving the father of her son all rights. I have never been arrested or appeared in his court the 20 years I lived here. He just seems to hate me. I dont think its right. I even have my own daughter full time. I am a local business owner in a small town. Yes it seems to me like its not usa. There must be something up is butt. How do I figure it out. Thanks for all your time.

This is not a divorce case. It is a custody case, where the ONLY thing the judge is supposed to consider is the best interests of the child.
The judge has not told your girlfriend she can't date or work for you--you're right, he doesn't have that power. He has merely told her that as long as she lives with you, she can't have custody of her son. This may or not be an appropriate decision, but he does have the power to make it. He clearly believes that living with his mother and you is not in the child's best interest.
If your girlfriend does not think his decision is reasonable, then she can appeal it. That's how the system works. |

The questions is confusing but a judge cannot tell you who you can date. Specific laws or statues might not allow you to work at certain places, but a judge cannot tell you that you can't work at Burger King, etc...
An exception is if you were involved in a criminal matter, but that is not the case. Judges render decisions, but cannot tell you how to live your life. |

There has to be more to this picture.
No judge in the US would deny a woman visitation with her child with out just cause.
This person needs to go back to court and prove you are no threat to the child/children involved.
As I said, there is more to this situation than you are obviously aware of. |
