I got a form from the law library website of my county and state. It is pretty much a "fill in the blank" form for shared parenting. My fiance is working things out with his ex for the custody of their child. He had filed for shared parenting and we were anticipating a court date, but she called him the other day and said enough is enough. She can't take it any more so she's done being difficult and wants to work everything out with him outside of court. I don't know whether to trust this or not, but he's going to meet with her and discuss the aspects laid down in the shared parenting plan model. If they do come to agreements on all the aspects, can we just fill in their agreements and file it with the Juvenile Clerk of Courts? The form covers all the aspects of raising a child and I got it from our law library. It just has to be filled out, signed, and stamped by the notary at the court house. Is it really that simple?

I'm the one working on it because I'm a law student and I understand the terms better, or if I don't understand them, then I have easy access to explanations. My fiance is in New York right now so he doesn't have time to get this thing typed. I'm just doing him a favor.

Make sure the document is signed by both and notarized, file it with the courts, and it should be fine. |
