Firstly, you haven't specified anything, were talking law here, you didn't even say what she things you did.
Generally however, they CANNOT go through your purse. They CAN detain you until an officer of the law arrives.

No, she can't force you. She has to wait for a cop, who would have the right to search it due to probable cause.
It's usually in your best interest to volunteer for the search. If you stole something it's going to be found and this just makes life easier for everyone involved. |
