ok so a week ago i got a minor misdemeanor citation for having an open container of alcohol and i'm underage. and we were IN a vehicle. we weren't driving. i was in the back seat. i previously asked a question about what the court fees would approximately be (and if anyone can answer that question i would appreciate it) and someone answered and said the judge could suspend my license-but this answerer was also under the impression we were driving-which we weren't. so my question is-being that it was a minor misdemeanor (which carries a maximum penalty of $150 and no possible jail time and is basically as bad as a traffic ticket), could they really suspend my license? i don't think so but it just got me thinking...thanks for any help! xx

more than likely you will get a fine and a warning.. as for your license they can take it away
many states have ZERO tolerance with minors and alcohol and the driving PRIVILEGE is what they can do to punish at worst
