Can i Sue a jail for not giving prescribed medication?

my bf was detained for a warrant and was held in 1 prison waiting for transfer to the 1 that had the warrant for him. while he was at the 1st prison they called the drug store my bf uses to get his prescription filled at and verified that he legally had prescriptions and issued him the medications for the few days he was held there.
When the other prison who had the warrant picked him up and brought him to their jail he saw the nurse and she had a record of the medicine the 1st prison verified and gave him but they did not give him any sort of medication. He had mri few weeks before all this and had few herniated disks, causing pinched sciatic nerve so he had major lower back pain and leg pain that he could not walk far or up stairs or down them. He has been disabled since 1999 for a open book pelvic fracture and has always had lower back pain and sees his dr regularly for his prescriptions.
Now for the few days he was in the 2nd prison not receiving any medication does he have any grounds that he could be able to sue? he had an appointment for spinal injections during 1 of the days he was in there that he had to miss due to being incarcerated for a failure to appear warrant. and he also missed an appointment to see his primary dr 2 days after the spinal appointment.

YES. There are tons of things. NEglegence, reckless endangerment, etc. The jail refused a LEGALLY perscribed medication. They also caused him avoidable harm if you're thinking about damages.

yes he can sue a prison they are just a money making corporation inmates have sued for bettter meals better healthcare all sorts of stuff...
