can a person thats not a registered voter. be summons for trial duty, i was told u cant participate.. but wanted some more opinions thanks.

Yes. They use DMV records so that they could catch all the people who didn't register to vote to avoid jurry duty. |

In most countries, yes. Each state and country has their own rules, but in the u.s., no state limits juries to those who are registered to vote. In my state you must be over 18 and a citizen of the u.s. and not a felon. That is fairly typical. Jurors are summoned from all sorts of data bases. At one time, some court just used voter registration lists, but they have all abandoned that because it exclude that who do not register to vote. Now, most states use voter rolls, and DMV info, and property info and utilities and all sorts of other data bases. |
