If an electrical device is sold without the correct plug for the country it's sold in, then it's not fit for purpose and you have the Sale Of Goods act to back you up.
Take them back and demand a full refund, then go see trading standards about it.
I used to be a store manager and if you sell something that is not fit for purpose, or not as advertised, then it is the store's obligation to offer a full cash refund. Go to a lawyer if necessary. |

If the product cannot be used for the purpose of which it has been sold then you can get your money back. |

Beautiful -

go back and get your refund... if they refuse ask to speak with the manager and if they still refuse tell them you will contact 'Trading Standards' which will hopefully send them shaking in their boots and will give you your refund before you take things further.
the shop has unlawfully sold you unusable goods which is illegal trading, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. |

talk the owner of the store nicely and tell to them that the item they give it to you is defective, maybe they will understand you |

That's what I call a pickle...
Now if they have the mixer with a non european plug, would you want it? If they replaced the cd players with ones that work, would that be alright?
My thoughts are if everything you bought is unusable here, than you have a pretty good arguement for a full refund, if they can make it right... then you should go that route, however, don't shop there again. |

Technically your product is faulty as it cannot be plugged into any of your home sockets.
I would go back to where you purchased it and create such a scene, untill you had back what you wanted.
Use words like consumer law and trading standards. |

You will probably have to talk to the store manager and explain your situation. Most states do have laws that prohibit a retail store from refusing their customer a money refund. If they refuse to give you a monetary refund you can just inform them that you are going to get in touch w/ the Business Licensing bureau in your state to file a complaint. Most of the time this will prompt them to give you a refund to avoid the hassle. |

No offense...did you buy these from a store in new condition or buy these items from a pawn shop. All you have to do is look at the plug!!! |

This item was obviously mis-sold and you were not made aware of the short comings of the product. See the manager of the shop and explain that you were not made aware of these difficulties and ask for a refund. If he refuses then go through the saga again but with a slightly raised voice and include sentences such as :Are you going to hoodwink all of these people in your store with false and hidden facts about the product they buy. I am sure you can think of a few more similar lines.
The wrong plug to me says that the product is not fit for the purpose for which it was sold, ie for a UK installation, another reason for a refund. |

Why don't you just exchange it for one with a UK plug?? |
|

oh o

the plug socket thing is no probs, just buy a converter they are like 60p. If they gae you the wrong things however, they are obliged to exchange as you were led to believe you were going to recieve something diferent. |
