he makes us work at least 5.5 hours and gives us no break and we are not allowed to eat. sometimes our shifts are as long as 8 hours. he says i pay u 7 dollars i expect you to work the entire 60 minutes. im only 17 is this fair?

every company has different policies but most states have a law that you are entitled to a 15 minute break every 2 hours and if you work 6 hours in a row then you are entitled to atleast a 30 minute lunch break. he can not force you to work 8 consecutive hours with no breaks at all, that is unlegal i do know that. whether you are a minor or not. |

I wish I had a boss like that!!!
Then I could sue him!
Since you are not allowed by LAW (Child Labor Laws) to make a minor work 8 hours straight!
He is also required to post that somewhere clearly visible to all employess if they employ minors.
If he doesn't then he can get fined for that too. |

I work at Best Buy in Ohio and when we were minors we had to take a .5 hour unpaid lunch every 5 hours. Now we have to go 8 hours before we can take a lunch.
But, seriously, if you can't go 5 hours without eating you could probably benefit from missing a few meals. |
