Good answer Ditka because I know that a PPO is only good for one year and you only have one year to serve it upon a person.

It depends--on the law in your jurisdiction, and sometimes on the judge.

Here, it is common for the court to make the Temporary Restraining Order "indefinite". When the defendant is finally served, they will schedule the hearing for the final order.
