Can someone sue if.....?

I know someone who was divorced. But the mother in law of the husband was taking advantage of his wife. She taught that she was going to be an heir to a house. Therefore the mother in law was trying her best to get her sons wife to give her the house IF she got it. My question is: The couple is divorce and the X husband signed over his rights i think. The mother in law is very upset with her sons X because she taught that she was going to get over on her easily. So can someone sue someone for their house? (I know it may sound crazy).

sorry i didn't make it clear. The husband and wife did not own a house. The wife father own a house. The mother in law thought that her daughter in law was going to get the willed to her. Therefore the mother in law tried to convice her daughter in law to give her the house. Now that the couple is devorced. The X mother in law is very upset.

I can't understand your question very well.

First of all, what do you mean by "going to be an heir"? What mother expects or wants to inherit something from their child? That's pretty sick, leaving me to wonder if you mean to use a different word.

Here's how I understand this~

A married couple own a house, however they are getting a divorce. The wife's mother is pressuring her to get the house in the divorce and give it to her. The husband let the house go to his wife and now the wife's mother is upset that her daughter is not giving her the house.

The mother has no grounds to sue. It's not her house, never was and she is not entitled to ownership of it whatsoever. If in fact the mother expects to inherit the house, she is still not entitled to it if it's not willed to her. A person cannot successfully sue for an item to be willed to them.

Okay, the former mother-in-law can be upset all she wants, and she's crazy. Seriously, she's nuts to want or expect her daughter-in-law to hand over a house she inherited from her father for nothing. If the daughter gets the house after the divorce her former husband has no claim to the house. His family, whether they're married or not, has no business whatsoever in this property.

Obviously the house belonged to a married couple. If the husband agreed to let the wife have the house in the divorce settlement, then it's hers. No ones mother was ever entitled to get the house. She needs to get over herself.

This mother in law is very sick. There is no way in hell she can sue her son's X wife for a house that she does not even own yet.
This lady need help. She should just get her a house of her own the right way and move on with her life.
