move to The Peoples Republic of China-----they agree with you--------we do NOT------you don't deserve freedom. |

?

Amen to that.
Anyone watched "Idiocracy"? |

Did you see how that worked out for China? Don't worry, if people keep breeding to excess, nature will clean it up with natural disasters. Fire, flood, disease, famine... The earth can take us! |

This is America. We have freedom here. If you want to live in a country with mandatory birth control, move to China. If you don't want any children, don't have any. |

Most developed nations have negative population growth from their low birth-rates. Yours is actually an immigration issue and problem of the impoverished nations that is burdening the world. |

Overpopulation is a myth. According to a UN study in 2000 sixty one countries had *negative* population growth. Another source lists that twenty European countries are experiencing a population loss. And food supply is not a problem. There's more than enough food to feed everyone. The problem is the distribution. |

Well as a mother of 4 I guess I am being booted out of American then?
The way I see it - feel free to breed as long as you can afford it -- if you can't feed em don't breed em. |

Move to China . They have a government that control almost everything including how many children they can have.
I am glad to live in a country that gives me choices over my life. |

I agree with you there are too many people,
but i am worried what else the government would feel they could control once they were controling our birth rate. |

Won't work people like popping out babies. Only remedy I see that could work is sterilize anyone on welfare after 3 kids, sterilize all violent felons upon their second conviction, sterilize all illegal immigrants the third time they are caught and if all else fails no choice but to thin the herd with World War 3. |

I think have as many kids as you can handle as long as you are taking care of them good and can provide for them properly without government help, i.e. having a job and not being on welfare or food stamps. You can made birth control mandatory but you couldn't be right there to make sure every woman took it properly. I think if women had more kids than they could take care of they need to be sterilized (which I know isn't 100%) but would be more effective than birth control. Sterilization policy, now that sounds like a good one. |

Give me a break. Thats your opinion. I think that families should be able to have as many children as they want. move to china if you want it like that.. |

Actually what you need is to cut the perpetual poor from producing kids. First, while the black and Hispanic population combined is now 85 million – five times what it was in 1960 – half of all black and Hispanic kids drop out of high school. And the average math and reading scores of the half who graduate are at seventh-, eighth- or ninth-grade levels. |

If we did that what would happen to people who were against birth control for religious reasons? What about those who are against it for health reasons? What would happen if someone had a baby while on birth control, would we resort to infanticide?
There are those who don't want children, will others be able to "buy" their child credits?
I agree that we are over populating the earth, but we are not China and we still have free will over our bodies. |

I have 4 kids. I am thinking about having another.
As long as abortion is legal, I have a right to choose what to do with my own body, even if the means over populating the planet single handedly.
Maybe you should move to China, they'd like you over there. |

I would like NOT to see a maximum birth control policy. How would it be in forced??? If you became pregnant after you had 2 children ?? Would the third child be aborted? Oh no!!! I think that would be a tragedy. I agree with the others who answered----move to China. It is a policy there already. Sorry I can't agree with the idea, this is a free country, and I am proud and happy to live here. I have 2 children and that was enough for me. Thank you |

The overpopulation concerns are overblown. The problem is not overpopulation, it is the allocation of resources. Paris Hilton uses 100 times the amount of energy and resources that I do, and I have three kids while she has none. There is actually NO food shortage or space shortage on this planet. The problem is getting the resources to the people who need them. To blame American parents with four children for the choice of the North Korean government to keep food out of it's citizen's mouths is absurd, for example. I also have nothing to do with the choice of others to not offer free birth control to people starving and in poverty all over the world.
I'm all for *free* birth control - it's something we actually could do. However, I maintain that I have a right to have 10 kids as long as Paris Hilton has the right to a private jet and three mansions. |
