Can you be sued by publishing someone's picture in a newsletter without permission?

My immediate boss (major bully) took a picture of me without telling me why the picture was being taken and then later published in the company's newsletter. What should I do? She's a bully and I've already gone through HR and no luck with recourse as of yet.

Was the running of the photo somehow a lie about you? What was its purpose?
I think you should have better things to do than so nuts on this. Let it go.

Yes, someone can be sued. If you did not give permission, the photo should not have been published. Of course, if you choose to take legal action, it would be your word against theirs, and probably not worth the trouble.

Well, the polite thing would have been to ask your permission. However, as an employee, your rights are limited at best. Given it was for a company newsletter and not for profit, there is really not much you can do.
