I believe you are able to collect "partial unemployment" if you work only 20 hours a week or less (I am not certain on that figure). Please check with your unemployment office on the exact status but I am fairly sure I am correct. |

I think you can, but only partial un-employment. Check with your local workforce center. |

Yes, it depends on the amount of hours you work, and the money you make. |

Yes, you just have to report your earnings to the unemployment office so that your checks for unemployment can be adjusted. |

You can collect the unemployment benefits minus what you're making in the part-time job. Call or visit the employment office to get the details and avoid any interruption in your benefits. |

if you have in fact been laid off. meaning that the job will be there for you again, once the company does its adjustments or whatever. then more than likely you will be eligible for some compensation during the time in which you are laid off. regardless of having another job. yet having a job will lower your payments. you need to check out your local unemployment office. |

It depends on the state. You should check with them first. In some states you can claim partial benefits but you must establish monetary eligibility first. |

if you are being paid cash maybe you could get away with it |

In Illinois you can make up to about 50% of your full time job. They may also take you part time pay and reduce the amount of your unemployment benefit |

As long as they dont find out, but tehcnically no...because you arent unemployed, errrr. The government doesnt care if you enough money to live or not, you can always apply for welfare. |

Only if unemployment doesn't find out about it. |

ehh as long as your working i dont think so...and in order to collect unemplotment i thik you had ot have been working the ful time job for atleast either a year or a year in a half |

Yes I know this. You can work for up to 15hrs a week but I think you have to tell them about it. |

You could but it would be illegal. lol
If unemployemnt pays more than your part time job you'd be better off financially losing the part time job and collecting unemployment until you can find another full time job. I prefer to work rather than collecting a hand out but I can understand why many may look at it differently if money is that tight. |

This is so irrelevant but.. I just had a dream about unemployment. Im not getting my full 40 hours a week at my job and I had a dream that my friend told me that i could claim unemployment for those hours that Im losing at work. Wouldn't that just be the best thing in the world if we could actually get that? |

No, unless you are being paid cash. If you are recieving a payroll check for any reason and paying taxes, that will be considered as income and your unemployment will be canceled. |

No. Even though you only have a part time job, it is still a job. Sorry. |
