My father died a few years ago and had raised me and my brother all our lives our mother had hardly anything to do with us and she never paid a penny of child support, she has now came into $175,000 and I think she should now give what she owes I think a jury would agree in a civil trial. can I??

Child support is owed by the non-custodial parent to the custodial parent. A child - especially an adult child - has no cause of action for child support.

If your father or your father's estate had reduced the child support debt to a judgment, the estate may be able to execute on that judgment to take assets from your mother. Consult the attorney representing the estate.
Otherwise, you are out of luck. The debt was owed to your father, not to your brother and you. |

I don't think a jury would agree with you at all. If your father was still alive he would have a good case. But since you didn't incur any expenses raising you, why do you feel entitled? |

If your father ever brought child support charges against her and she never paid and owes back $ then yes she will have to pay the $$ to you which would be his heir of his estate. Isnt it better to just forget about her and become successful on your own.Success is the best revenge here. |

No. Why do you think it is your money? If she was selfish when you were growing up and provided no motherly affection, she sure won't be happy if you sue her. Better to just leave things alone and hope eventually she gives you some $ or leaves it to you. But don't hold your breath. |
