Can you sue someone for lying about their Gender and then cheating on you?

This person for 3 years has lied to me about being transgendered and then progresses to cheat on me with 5+ men in the relationship. Is there anything I can do about this? I haven't been tested for an STD yet, but I will. But technically could I not at least sue for exposing me to a potential STD?

This is weird, I never thought it would happen to me. But I need some help!

obviously if i knew it was a man it would not have happened. And no im telling you. NO ONE knew. In fact he looks VERY much like a girl. Post op, implants everything. I was shocked and then disgusted further by being cheated on with this person. I dont see how anyone can lie about this and be able to get away with it. Im going to be psychologically unfit for anything for a long time.

You have to have actual damages to file a lawsuit.

This is a man who used to be female? And you didn't know that? Yes you could sue for that if you got married under false pretenses. But unless he gave you an STD, you can't do anything about that. Or the cheating. You need to get tested though. If he gave you one, and he knew he had one, yes you can sue.

I believe you can sue only for actual harm, not potential harm.

I also suspect courts would not be interested in fraud charges for this case.

i doubt it has a very good case, go to a local law firm and ask their advice.

is it worth exposing this to every one though. are you comfortable that every one knows???

You don't have much of a case. But, just to be sure, give the law firm of Dewey, Cheatham, & Howe a call, they might be able to help you.

Weird it is, but no grounds for a suit. If they actually changed their gender they were legitimately the gender they claimed.

Good one to mark up for experience and if they're that promiscuous you need to get checked for STD's right away.

You can sue all you want, however you would only be eligible to collect any damages from the situation.

Perhaps you would win the cost of a STD test.

HOWEVER there are some exceptions....

Did you put this person on your insurance or any other government document in which he lied? If so, he's guilty of fraud and can be prosecuted.

Get yourself tested for STD. If you haven't cheated and he has, then you can probably also both sue him and have him prosecuted. It is now a crime in almost all states to sleep with someone if you know you have an STD.

Have you entered into any kind of financial relationship with this person, including renting the same house etc? If the person has lied significantly, then you can sue them for fraud.

You can also sue for emotional distress.

Conversely, if you are in a Red State, then I wouldn't bother because you will not have a sympathetic court. If you are in a Blue State, I would talk to a lawyer.

Although I'm sure that this has been really tough, you need to get tested and move on. Hanging on to it by suing would only prolong your pain and embarrassment. Even if you could get a lawyer to take it, you'd almost certainly lose - and certainly be embarrassed. There is a quote by George Herbert â€“ â€œLiving well is the best revenge.â€ Take that advice, and move on with your life.

Get tested asap. You can sue if you have a serious STD and for psychological damages caused by hooking up with a tranny.
