Can you tell me why these people are asking me to receive money for free from over seas. Is it a scam?

testimony to you haven received instruction from God through divine

My name is Rev. Sister Mary Ubah, I am in charge of the St. Vincent de
Paul ophanage Center here in Lagos. After fasting and prayer The
almighty God revealed to me that you are appointed to be our representative
in your area.

We have organizations and people in your area trying to donate money to
our charity but we don't have a representative in your area and we
shall be glad to make you our representative and this will not occupied
your time.

All we need from you is your full contact details (ie. Your full name,
Address and Telephone number) People and organizations have offered to
donate between US$5,000.00 to US$50,000.00

It is ALWAYS a scam. You get checks that may be certified or cashiers, or even US Postal Money Orders or Wal-Mart money orders. You deposit them in your account and wire them money when it clears; or you sent them money by Western Union or Moneygram. And then, A FEW DAYS LATER, their deposit bounces as forged or fraudulent.

This is such a scam! They just want your info so they can empty your bank account.

Why are these things always from Nigeria? I heard it's b/c they don't really have much law enforcement regarding scams like this. . .

I guess these Nigerian scammers are still at it.All they will want after you contact them is your bank acct number so they can have access to it-but definitly not for any deposits!!Then guess the rest.

It's the most famous famous Phishing Internet scam known. Aside from winning a lottery overseas you never entered. Once you give them your information to have these funds "deposited" they clean your account and disappear. And yes, people all over the world have thrown common sense to the breeze and have been duped by it.

Of course it is a scam. I think you should try to report it somehow. I would never give anyone your info or money via internet. Some lady, through God , has appointed you? Hell no!! Don't do it. I will see what I can do to find out who this is and where they are located. You might save it for your records in case you recieve more mail from them! good luck!!

i dont even have to read this nonsense. Yes!!! this is a scam. It was on dateline a year ago how people are conned out of their life savings over the net. Just delete these emails when you get them.

Absolutely scam! There are other variations too. The latest one I've seen was someone claiming to be a peacekeeper in Iraq that found a stash of money in an insurgent hideout and wanted help getting it back to the US!
