Can an employer require you to tuck in your shirt, even if you do not have contact with the public in your duties? I understand uniform compliance, but I am not sure about tucking in shirts or rolling sleeves?

You probably signed a lot of paperwork to become an employee for them; odds are that it was mentioned in the paperwork, and you must therefore obey or be terminated. |

If it is listed in your employee manual under dress code you are required to, it may not even be specific as tuck your shirt in, but may come under neat and tidy. |

Yes, if it is in their dress code then they have every right to enforce it. Many states have an at will employment law, which means if they don't like the color of your shirt, they could fire you without real cause, so you might want to follow the dress code, leave your sleeves unrolled and buttoned at the cuff, and tuck in that shirt/wear a belt if your pants have belt loops! |

I do not understand why you would worry about the legality question.
You will not get ahead (unless you do not care) in your carreer if your biggest issue is tucking in your shirt.

well if your managers ask you to tuck in your shirt you have to do it because they ask you to tuck them in and if you cares about your job u gatta do it...but if no one have ask you to do it...you don't have to.. |
