Hypothetically speaking, if you sign a contract to buy a house with the contingency of inspection and you have 10 days to get it inspected, and the sellers of the home have 3 days left to turn on the electricity, heat, water, and all that til the 10 days are up. Are you (the buyer) still legally bound to the contract even though the sellers didn't turn everything on so you could get the house inspected.
So my question is... Would the buyer still be legally bound to the contract even though the sellers never turned everything on for the inspector to inspect the house.

That depends on what the sales contract says. However, since an inspector is unable to perform an inspection without functioning utilities, it's a safe bet that you'd be in the clear because of the seller's non-performance. |

Sounds like you got yourself in a mess. I would think that the seller broke their part of the contract by not turing the utilities on, but shouldn't the house already have ultilities? |
