Could i get fired for getting drunk after work not on company time?

i had little more to drink one night and i work out of town i do construction work . one of the foremans said i snore to loud so that night i kind of got little wasted and they fired me next day can they do that.When everybody there at work drinks everyday.

I don't know about the law in your state, but California is an "at will" state. This means that, unless you are union, you have no recourse. They can terminate your employment without cause.

Yes. Some employers can fire you for the way you "represent" the company off company time. There is unfairness in who companies decide to fire every day. I would try to get your unemployment and chalk it up as their loss. We have the wrong people working in this country anyway.

What was the official reason they gave for firing you? If you were late in the morning, and ppl knew you were blasted the night before then there you go, but if not, I would be a little pissed off. If you didn't get a valid reason for termination, then u have the green light to kick up a bit of a stink with ur ex-boss, even the BBB, imo.
