you see, I am trying to be a nanny and I need to be CPR and First Aid certified and I want to take classes on line- they are cheaper but I don't know if it hurt me instead of actually being present in class, if you were an employer would it matter? please advice thank you

I don't see how you could be certified without taking a class in person, particularly for the CPR. As there's a part where you practice the techniques. Check with the Red Cross or a local hospital or fire department. |

Would you want your kids to be watched by a nanny who took cpr online and never even practiced cpr on a dummy? Hmm, not a tough one for me as a parent. Would you want your phlebotomist to say to you, "Hey, I've never drawn blood on a real person but I took online classes to learn how!! Quit squirming!"
If you are just looking to put the certification on your resume, then it doesn't really matter. But if you want to feel confident that you might have a shot at saving a life should an emergency occur, I think it's obvious which class you should take.
Truthfully, most people forget 90% of what they learn anyway, whether or not they take a cpr class in person or on the internet may not matter much to you. But the perception that you took a class with a pretty important hands on element online would be rather negative. It's worth the extra money to take the class in person. |
