Daughter charged with shoplifting in North Carolina for $89?

Cops told her she wont go to jail and to go for plea bargain with DA. Has a court date with DA only. What should she do? This is her first citation for theft. She has only got a ticket once. How does the plea bargain work?

Under no condition should she talk to DA alone! She does not know the law or plea options available. She she consult a criminal defense Attorney. Many offer free consultations. You will need to hire a criminal defense lawyer to help you and work with the DA. I suspect if you handle it yourself you will be likely to miss important points of law, overlook criminal procedure process, and may get your daughter in a worse situation.
