Democrats why do you call us conservitives right winggers?

Right Wing and Left Wing are terms used to describe a spectrum of political philosophies. I believe in the aftermath of one of the French Republics, the deputies of the national assembly were arrayed from left to right in front of the speaker's desk based on their political party affiliation. The most radical were to the left, the most reactionary to the right.

There is not a "judgement" of good or bad in the terms, technically.

Now why do Republicans insist on calling my party the "Democrat" party instead of the "Democratic" Party, which is its offical and legal name. That BTW is a calculated insult done at the behest of Newt Gingrich when he was trying to break apart all aspects of bipartisanship so that he could take control of Congress...

Why do some of you call us 'left wingers'?

Honestly, I didn't know 'right winger' was in any way deragatory. I am called a 'welfare ho' a 'welfare thug' a 'terrorist supporter/lover', anti-American, 'unpatriotic' nearly daily in this forum.
If you're gonna play in YAnswers Politics, you've got to expect insults, unfortunately.

It is a way to identify different groups. Red states-blue states. Left-right.

No reason to get all riled up.

As you can see, you are on the right. Hence, "right winger".

"Right Wing"ers is not a dig, nor an insult, it's a description of conservatism, fundamentalism, and nationalism, and of a political position that focus on adherence and obedience to traditional values and authorities and creating or promoting a form of social hierarchy.

It comes from the French Revolution and the seating arrangements of their parliament. Those literally sitting on the right side of the room usually supported the monarchy, the aristocracy and the clergy.

It's also one half of the political spectrum. The other would be Leftists, or Left-wingers. Which is not an insult either.

It might be good to figure out if a term is actually insulting before you get so wound up about it.
