Wow I can't believe all these wrong answers people are giving on here. I called the I.R.S today and after being on hold for 1 hour this is what I found out.
Yes, deposits did start today BUT 00-20 will be deposited "BY" May 2, meaning it will be in your account no later than May 2. They will not be "snail mailing" until May 9th. You can go to www.irs.gov and they have updated their website for payment dates also if you want to know exactly how much you are getting and when you will have it direct deposited "BY" call their customer service, trust me it's worth the wait and it's better than going on here when no one knows what they are talking about. Also if you did a rapid refund or had your money put on some type of a debit card....for example a H&R Block or Jackson Hewitt card you will NOT recieve your rebate on that card, it will be snail mailed to you.
And finally if you owe back child support it will be taken out of this rebate that also goes for back taxes, welfare anything you owe the GVT.

I didn't get mine today either. My last 2 are 00 and I did file my taxes direct deposit. It might have been sent today, but not show up in the account until tomorrow. That happens with my paycheck sometimes. I hope that's all it is. |

Here is what I just found. I searched it due to the fact that my payment was not there either and my last two are 18 and I filed direct deposit. For people receiving direct deposits, those with a Social Security number ending in 00 to 20 will have their economic stimulus payment deposited to their bank account by May 2. The IRS started doing direct deposits this morning at 8:30 am est and will continue for the next two days. On Thursday they will take a break. Then Friday prepare for the big group. Which are the people with 21-75 as last two digits will get theirs by May 9. The last group of direct deposit will be May 16. |

Every website keeps restating the same timeline for direct deposit rebates. Many actually said that if your SSN ended with 00-20 that it would be deposited BY the end of today. Nowhere could I find anything that said it may take several days. Perhaps that is implied when they say they are "starting" to deposit the checks today, but I don't think it makes anyone an idiot for being concerned. |

I had mine direct deposited too. The thing is I was robbed and beaten up a few weeks ago and my identification was stolen. I cant access my bank account to find out. |

It starts today
f your last two digits of your Social Security number are 00-09, you could expect that rebate check to be mailed by May 16.
It’s by May 23 if the last two digits are 10-18.
It’s May 30 if the digits are 19-25.
It’s June 6 if the digits are 26-38.
It’s June 13 if the digits are 39-51.
It’s June 20 if the digits are 52-63.
It’s June 27 if the digits are 64-75.
It’s July 4 if the digits are 76-87.
It’s by July 11 if the digits are 88 -99 and the person did not use direct deposit of a refund this year – or if you wrote a check to cover money owed for the 2007 tax year.
You may not get your hands on the stimulus money, though, in some cases if you’ve got some financial troubles – like past-due income taxes, either state or federal, and delinquent payments on student loans and child-support.
If you are in a formal repayment plan for a student loan or IRS tax bill, you’ll likely get the stimulus check.
The IRS will send letters to tell you if your check has been applied directly to other back-taxes or delinquent debts.
See www.irs.gov for more information and an online calculator that can help you figure out how much you might get for a refund. You need a completed 2007 federal income tax return to use that calculator.

I work at a bank, and direct deposits do not always show up right when they are done. It can take a day. So if the money went in today, you may not see it until tomorrow. We had a lot of people asking if their's was in the accounts today at work, and we did not see anything. Just be patient. I have the early direct deposit to and I am hoping it will be in my account tomorrow. |

I first hear that 00-20 would be deposited on May 2nd then I heard it was going to come early on April 28 for people with 00-20. Well my last two digits are 05 and I have not received anything. |

I am in the same boat. I filed in Jan and my last SSN is 18. I was on the list to first receive the money on May 2nd. So with all the news reports and Bush speech, I thought today was the day I would have the money. Well I haven't yet. |

Ok so Bush said last week the checks would start going out today the 28th for people who have already filled there taxes and had it direct deposited, it is still going by the last 2 digits of your social, i found this info on a website forgot which one, my social ends with 03 but still have yet to recieve it so i realy dont know how they are doing things |

Not everyone that fell in the 00-20 catagory got their $ today. It takes more than one day to send them all out. You should get it BY May 2 or maybe earlier just be patient. |

It is also sent/deposited based on the last 2 digits of your social security #. Those with 01-10 for the last 2 are being mailed out or direct deposited beginning May 1st as I understood it. If your taxes were direct deposit, you should also be receiving the stimulus direct deposit. Higher ending #'s will go out later |

They are going to START sending out the rebates today. It goes in order according to the last two digits of your SSN. People who got their regular refunds via direct deposit will be the first to get their stimulus rebates, and then the people who got their refund by paper check will get rebate checks mailed out to them.

Yes they are doing DIRECT DEPOSIT on SS # ending 00-20 THIS WEEK. As per IRS web site, they will start on Mon thur Wed. They will take Thur. off for reg. tax refunds to be deposited for Friday. Then they will continue next Mon. for the remainder of the deposits! Mines end in 02 and I didn't get mines either. I was lookin forward to it but hey - This is the IRS and President Bush. |

Nobody has received there deposit today, Bush lied again. If the last 2 of your social are from 00-02 you should receive a deposit in your account today 28APR. The next series is due to deposit 05may and the last set is one 12may. If you watch CNN you would have heard our president state he will start all the deposited a week early. |

NO DICE! LIED TO AGAIN BY THE GVT! DIRECT DEPOSIT SUPPOSED TO BEEN IN MY ACCT TODAY BUT WERE NOT! they will start mailing out the checks today, but yours wont neccesarily get maild out today. and they will mail you an actual check NOT direct deposit it. (its not a part of your return, its totally seperate.) |
