Basically I live on the 2nd floor of a 2 story condo building. The floors are so squeaky, I know it has bothered my neighbors under me in the past because they banged up against their ceiling. Since then I've been tip toeing all the time and jumping over huge parts of the floor where it squeaks a lot and its bothering me a lot. I want to feel the freedom of moving around without anyone else knowing which part of my apartment Im in and without them being bothered by it either.

Its like I never feel at peace, when other people can hear my every footstep and know what Im doing all the time. Even when I move around in bed it can make the floor squeak.

It's your right to move about within your home as you feel. Now maybe excessive partying and such I could see them complaining, but just normal activity no. If the floor is really that noisy it sounds like a problem that should be taken up with your landlord. |

Is this a rental or do you own it? Since you said it is a condo and you didn't mention a landlord, I will assume you own it. If you do, then it is time to think about spending a little bit of money and have a carpenter come in and see what it would take to have him secure up your flooring. Perhaps your neighbors would contribute since they are the ones being bothered. If it is a rental then the problem belongs to your landlord. You have the right to move about in a normal fashion, and should do so. Let your neighbors fight with the landlord to get it fixed, and if they bang on the ceiling, then complain to the landlord that they are excessively noisy. |

It is your place and unless you are jumping wildly up and down, you have the freedom to walk to and from rooms in your apartment.
Definitely talk to your landlord. Or possibly think about purchasing some nice throw rugs to kind of help with the squeaking. |
