Yes, they sure do! They are already trying to identify them with security camera footage. Even after he was down, they kept walking over him! It's not possible they didn't know they were walking over a human. They prevent first responders from getting to him in time to save his life and they endangered others who saw he was down and tried to help him, including an 8 month pregnant woman. THEN, when they were told what happened and told they had to leave the store because it was closing, many of them actually said it was unfair because they had waited for so long to get in. And they were shopping for Christmas presents. Seems like they don't know what Christmas is, but then animals often don't comprehend what humans do.
And here ya go......People on here already making excuses for these animals! Blaming Wal-Mart because these "people" couldn't possibly think for themselves or be in control or have a conscience. WAL-MART caused it for daring to open on Black Friday and to have really good specials and not chasing them away when they waited in line for hours in the middle of the night. This kind of thing is going to happen more and more and get worse and worse until we stop making excuses for barbaric behavior and blaming someone else for it! Those "people" in that crowd are responsible for KILLING a man for CHEAPER CHRISTMAS presents! It's NOT Walmart's fault!
(Sorry, but this really has made me angry and excusing them is just pitiful.) |

Yes.
I have a difficult time accepting the fact that people put the need to save a few dollars over the life of a human being. |

I do think the ones that didnt care about a person's whole life ahead of them and killed him for cheap consumer products its so sad. |

Yes, they should be tried for murder! It wasn't even an accident. They trampled that man and didn't bother to stop to come to his aid. |

yes... they were so excited to get into WALMART that they killed a man. |

someone should pay for his death, the poor guy was just a temp, A pregnant lady was hurt, I bet if she had been killed there would be people charged. I read they pushed so hard, they bent the metal bar.
Black Friday needs to be stopped, the reason for the mobs is they only offer a couple products for a couple hours at a low price |

Yes, they should. That disgusts me that people are so shallow and materialistic that they would trample someone to save a hundred bucks. What f*in losers!!! I just get so pissed off when I hear about things like that!
I heard that the police are investigating the tapes and plan to press charges against the people who were directly involved... |

I agree with you.
People need to know that there are consequences to there actions. Especially when a life is take.
The people at the front of this mob saw the person standing there waiting to unlock the door.
A life was taken to save a money on a LCD TV,
Yes prosecute and also Walmart Corp. or its management at this location should also be held responsible for the decisions made that lead to this.
If it was my family member I would be after the DA to brings charges. I would also get a good attorney and I would sue Walmart Crop. for wrong-full death and negligence. |

yes id say the first 60-70 people should get fined and get mildly trampled to see what it feels like |

I heard something on the news saying that they were going to try to do something to the people that trampled him, but honestly I think it'll be close to impossible to follow through on. It will be extremely hard for them to say who exactly stepped on him and who didn't. On top of that, even the most conscientious of people probably wouldn't have been able to do much to stop themselves from going forward because the crowd was so large and the force of it was too strong to go against. If someone had stopped and tried to help the man, they more than likely would've been trampled as well. Of course, after they made it past the entrance, they should've informed authorities immediately. But then again, it will be almost impossible to say who was responsible for what.
I'm in no way trying to excuse such horrible behavior. I actually can't believe people continued to shop after police tried to clear the store and then complained about the poor man's death being such an inconvenience to their holiday shopping!
I just don't think it will be possible to charge any one person with his death. If they do, it will be hard to charge ALL of the people involved. More than likely, Wal-Mart will be the one to be sued. They knew that a crowd of around 2,000 people had been waiting outside for hours to get in. They knew that those people were going to be rushing inside to get what they wanted. Yet, they had very little security (if any) to keep things under control. They sent only six regular employees to go to the front to keep things in check and it was one unfortunate man's job to unlock the door. How was that a good idea? Wal-Mart is just as much responsible for his death as the people who trampled him. |

Yes! They deserve to be tried for manslaughter. |

I haven't heard anything about arrests being made but here is a story about people being trampled on that I didn't even know about. I don't know if it will give you an ideas to what may be going on in this case. The evidently don't find this kind of stuff as newsworthy.http://www.rwor.org/a/146/debate_protest-en.html |

this is what happens when you have out of control shoppers. idk about jail, but punishment should happen. they were too busy going to shop (like my god, get a life) that it even went as far as killing someone. that's when you know that you've lost your life right there. when your shopping actually kills. |

Legally, nobody is obligated to help him. Nobody will get in trouble for not trying to stand through the rush and pick him up.
If they could somehow identify people who deliberately pushed him over or stepped on him, they would be guilty of battery.
The main problem here is our society and our emphasis on money and instant gratification and greed. |

Well think about it. 5 000 people were lined up. Even if you wanted to stop because you were about to step on someone, you physically could not. That many people pushing you and you can do nothing. I think that there should be careful consideration about WHO to punish. Perhaps the ones that first knocked him down, or that wrecked the doors when they shoved them open. But people in the middle of the crowd had no say. That is sad and tragic and makes me ill to hear about it |

Have you ever been to walmart on black friday? the people who stepped on him were being pushed by a mob of hundreds who haven't even gotten inside yet. They couldn't just stop to help the man, they were shoved into the store. It was a horrific accident and really was just the fault of the mob, no one in particular. Black Friday is dangerous. |

The people wouldn't go to jail because it wasn't their fault. The people in the front were being pushed by the people in the back, and the people from the back couldn't see the man. |

It would have never happened if WalMart quits this practice of herding all these people and then unleashing them on their hapless employees.
There is this simple, old method called falling in line. It still works up to this modern age.
PS: It would have been worst. Stampedes like this have been known to kill multiple people. |

Doesn't the store have some blame? Opening @4am, only so many items per store, advertising the time it's open and what time the sale stops. |
