Do we have any rights-UK employment/holiday's?

My hubby asked to take 7 days holiday in June 09, but his boss said no-apprantly he has to take them in July or August because June is "too busy"
Basically my hubby told his boss that in June, we can afford to go on a summer holiday (£400, i am on maternity leave) and in July or August we can afford a holiday-too expensive.
My husband also asked for Flexible Working Hours which was rejected instantly.
This boss keeps comparing our family to his (my wife doesnt earn any money either, my family save up for months for a holiday) the cheek of this guy is that he earns £100k a year, and they have a nanny!

Anyway... do UK employees have any rights when it comes to taking holidays or do we just have to do what the rich up himself boss says?

If he is applying the same restriction to everybody or by seniority then, no, you don't have a case. It's his business and there-ford he sets the rules. If you're the only person this rule applies to, then call the Ministry of Labor office or your MP..

On direct gov site it says you employer can control when you take your holiday but if he thinks he is getting treated unfairly the he can complain to an Employment Tribunal
