Do we still have morals in America?

these days America does not care that we have on going issues and corruption.

let no person be ashamed of their crimes? as long as your a political figure? or your simply too lazy to deal with the issues until it is a direct hit on the white house, WWC, exc. ?

we have no morals in America any more, and it makes me sick to think about it.

I do. I believe in always trying to do the right thing. I am able to sleep well at night and look in the mirror and be happy with the person on the other side.

People, some do. Politicians, don't see any that do.

Unfortunately a lot of the clergy have become as egocentric and divorced from moral values as those in big business.

Keep in mind that "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" was just a movie, and Norman Rockwell is dead.

Yes. Every society that is not anarchy has morals. Whether you agree with the current set of morals a particular society has is an entirely different subject.

I feel alot of people still try to be the best they can these days, and we all make mistakes lets face it. But I disagree with soemthing El Indio said above about being Christiana and going to church = morality basically. I know plenty of atheists who are good moral people and just as many so called church going Christians who have cheated on their spouses, stolen from work, and had abortions. so please stop with the preaching God as the only way someone can do right in this life

Well in politics, no.

just watch your tv screen during election time, theres cheap shots and low blows on ads.

The people do though. 76.7% of Americans describe themselves as Christian and our weekly church attendance is around 50%.

The media doesnt though, just look at all the filth thats on. its a shame.

It is hard to have morals when our government sets the example they do. Our country is at war in Iraq,while there is a silent war in our own country the government only cares about lining there pockets no matter what the cost to the working class.It is hard to live in a respectful manner when everything you believe in is being abused. I think our dems have pretty much set the country straight thats its politically correct to have abortions,be gay,or support illegal crimminals. For us few who still have some morals,I think we are becomming the minority.

do individuals have morals? yes, most do.
do groups have morals? again, most do.
does the country as a whole have morals? sometimes.

it would appear the the numbers of people that have morals may be declining, but that's hard to say. do moral values rise, and fall, like the climatic temperature? probably. certainly they cannot decline forever, because that would have happened hundreds, if not thousands of years ago.
