Do you believe everyone is equal in the court of law?

By the letter of the law and in theory the answer is of course yes. However, with that being said, the reality is far different and no everyone is not equal. There are several applicable sayings that apply, with the most common being "Money talks and BS walks."

I once saw a jury aquit a man, who along with an accomplice, repeatidly stabbed and almost killed a man on a clear videotape depicting the attack and attempted murder. The hold out juror simply said "I don't think anyone belongs in prison." There was absolutely no doubt of the man's guilt and he was set free by an ignorant juror, probably to prey on another defenseless victim.

Another example is of course OJ Simpson. I personnaly know a great deal about this case and had a chance to speak with a phorensic specialist for the City of Las Vegas regardng this matter. Keep in mind this man is considered an absolute authority in his field and is called throughout the US to give "expert testimony." I asked him what he thought about the phorensic evidence against OJ. The man replied without hesitation "He is as guilty as hell. If I had a year to plan it, and all the help I needed, I could not possibly fake the evidence presented against him. When he was aquitted a guilty murderer walked free."

As a Police Officer of over 25 years experience, I can tell you that there is a vast difference between what actually occurs when you make an arrest and what you can prove in court. The system is run by men, and as such is going to be far from perfect, but it is currently the best system we have. Anarchy is not an acceptable alternative.

It's a lovely way to believe. But....cops, judges, lawyers, etc. all have one, big, fault.....they're human. And, juries too.

I sat on a jury one time, and I swear, those 11 made a Cabbage Patch doll seem intelligent!

Only in a perfect world. In our "real world" things work a little differently many times. Those modified rules are:
1. Fortune & Fame, you're never to blame
2. Your a celebrity, you get off scott free
