If someone took anothers persons life why shouldnt they be subject to get there life taken away from them....I believe in human rights but dont you think their victims suffered cruel and unusual punishment for doing nothing wrong....I think its a very just thing and then they get to meet their maker ( who ever it is depending on the religion) and get judged for their crime of taking anothers life...I think that some of the methods are cruel like electricution...but to inject someone full of chemicals and allow them to die is a more peaceful way to go considering what they did to their victims. |

Yes. Some people do such bad things... i don't think they should be allowed to enter normal society |

Yes, I wonder how all the bleeding hearts out there who say its cruel would feel if it was someone they loved who was killed. The people who cry the loudest abut how cruel the death penalty is live in nice safe areas and never have to know fear.
Theres a saying out there that says "a conservative is a liberal whos been mugged". So true. |

if they are frensicly proven guilty to a horrible crime would you like if they escaped?
>>>> I think not.
i think if they can prove that the person commited the crime then i think it would be better for the people if they died!!!! |

Depends What The Person Did. |

I personally believe there should be a death penalty for only two things: multiple murder and treason in a time of war. Serial killers are the scum
of the earth and should be executed rather than housed and fed at the public's expense.Wartime traitors have betrayed their country and probably endangered the lives of fellow citizens,so likewise.
As for molesters, rapists etc.-as despicable as they are,the death penalty would be excessive. Better that they
be given long prison terms with no parole, and be put on mandatory probation for life when they get out. |

If your child got raped or kiddnapped or something would you want to give the guy a chance to excape and do it again? No! If they don't kill him/her, I will! Not fair to take someone's soul? look what they just did! Are you going to let them live? who cares about the bad guy. If he is crazy enough to do something like that, he should not get the chance to do it again!! |

if the only way to keep people safe from the criminal would be to kill him/her... then it would be okay... work for the greater good...
But if you could just put the person in jail... its not okay
Ex: if Hitler would have just been put in jail (before he died... i dont remember how... i think it was suicide)... he still wouldve affected the world... so his death wouldve been just with the death penalty |

Absolutely not. Which one (or group)of us has the right to take human life away? I don't believe that I do. |

I think It all depends on what they did and if they have exhausted all possibilities that they could have been innocent!!!!! |

NO! No person, no government has the moral right to take the life of anyone. Most civilized countries have come to that realization. One "notable exception" for some reason has not. |

Heck no it is not unjust. It's funny how the people on death row want to argue about cruel and unusual punishment but it didn't make damned bit of difference to them when they were taking someone else's life. Give me a break! I think that what is more unjust is how long it takes between the time they are sentenced and the time that we finally fry them. |

Yes!!
Look at it this way: Is crime itself ever "Just" in any level??? No, I didn't think so... so why should we be worried about its punishment to be fair and just??? |

Do you believe murder is just?
I am refering to the crime committed. When the person who is being punished for taking someone else's life was it just for them to do that? |

I believe the death penalty is just, murder , rape and treason should be at the top of the list. The problem is the 20 or so years that an inmate sits around waiting to get all the appeals finished. Just think about the families whose loved one had no appeal at the time of the crime. |

Yes. As a matter of fact, I believe that the Death Penalty should be available for child molesters, rapists, and murders under the age of 18. |

I believe that it is just and should also include lesser crimes than murder. Crimes like child molestation, rape, kidnapping, and drug trafficing and dealing. |

Sometimes I wonder if people that don't support the death penalty know what these criminals are really like. People that are charged with the penalty are given it for a good reason! As for letting them suffer in prison instead, I would be all for that if they actually suffered. The problem is that these sick people don't care about what they did!! They will not think about what horrible things they did. They don't care...they just need to be gone. They do not have a soul to take away!! |

Being for the death penalty would be like saying i am for abortion. Neither is for me i am totaly against it. Example: Child created out of wedlock ,wrong, Man kills some one ,wrong, Who are we to pass judement on the taking of any human life. That is Gods work not ours. |

I don't think it is just. First of all, if they commited a crime that deserves death penalty it must be a really bad crime, but my opinion is, that death is just a very easy way to get them out of the concequence of their actions. Because after all, we are not sure what happens when you die, and I really believe that doing time in prison for the rest of your life is better. Of course when they actually put them to work not when they are just using our taxes to have a great time inside. |

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, no one have the right to take a soul.
or cut any part of other persons body for something he did. |

no. someone who is deserving of the Death Penalty should be left to live so that they may reflect upon their crime further crushing thier spirit, perhaps placing them on a deserted island or in the middle of British Columbia to fend for themselves. |

It depends on the crime that was commited. Sometimes I think that they abbuse the right. |
