I definately agree that it's nice to see some honesty, finally. I also believe that you can't be old and wise without being young and crazy. |

Of course not. It's better than being an alcoholic, or coke addict (ahem, Mr. Bush on both counts).
It is a plant and the government has no business regulating it anymore than tobacco. |

Nope. In fact, maybe it will help them realise than weed should be leggal. |

nope don't care |

No, weed is harmless, its not like they were shooting up heroin or something, and plus I think society is focusing too much on pot smoking, why not concentrate more on meth, cigarette smoking etc |
|

taxed till i die,

The same people who admitted it are the people who voted to make it illegal,Double standards as usual. |

No, it doesn't bother me because it will be a difficult thing to do to find someone in this day and age under the age of 60 that had never tried it while they were in college. Many years have passed and they are not not engaged in the same behaviors now. |

I don't care who used what when they were younger, as long as they're not addicted to anything when they run for office. The hypocrisy around politicians and their drug use is amusing, however. |

I think they need to start smoking it again, chill out, achieve personal enlightenment, connect to the greater forces of mother earth, and make it their personal mission to legalise the weed, and spread peace and love accross the globe. |

I think they are being honest and sensible, if they denied it some old school 'friend' is bound to say they are lying. The issue for me is that Cameron refuses to confirm or deny and that is more damaging to him in my book as the inference is he did but he is not man enough to admit it. |

I completely agree. In fact, I wonder about someone who never even tried it. Either they're lying or they're just incredibly uptight. |

I'm just waiting for them to admit to current use of psychotropic substances, which would explain their behavior. |
|

At least they know something about the subject they are dealing with. If, as seems to be the case, none of them have felt the urge to move onto stronger drugs and are not currently sticking needles in their arms or drinking straws up their noses, that's a good argument for either leaving cannabis as class C or even decrimming it entirely. |

I care not in the least.
I care about their current character, not their juvenile peccadilloes. |
|

OK
|
First of all smoking cannabis is illegal we all know that, and I'm sure the well educated MPs and ministers who admit to taking illegal drugs knew that, and should definitely not be allowed to make laws to control young people of today
crime in this country and many others is down to drugs by smoking and taking illegal drugs is aiding and abetting many other crimes, the Butterfly effect.
MPs, ministers, Lord, judiciary service or any other parts of the bureaucratic clan should be removed from position, |

I am not the least bit interested in what these politicians do or have done but one thing that does irritate me is when they stand and preach to the country about what is wrong and what is right!
What ever happened to 'lead by example'?
I would not be surprised if there are a few rapists, fraudsters, murderers, perverts, car thiefs, drug dealers, illegal immigrants, etc...amongst the 'leaders' of our country.
A fine example for normal teenagers to follow!
As for honesty.....depends how much the corporations will pay them to be honest! Lobbying is a very lucrative sideline. |

all a bunch of druggies... we all did it... and now they stopping it because THEY had their fun. Its against human rights to stop people smoking weed. Let people have fun. |
|

Boring

i care because they are using this to reclassify cannabis and impose tougher sentences on those who enjoy a smoke. this makes them hypocrites and is very annoying |

No not bothered every one does it or trys it................ OK so there is a few of you out there who have not tried it .......................Or at least you pretend you have not.
Personally i think the goverment should take a leaf out of Hollands book and make cannabis legal.
Lets be honest surely our police force have better things to do than going around arresting people just because they are having a puff.
Also if Cannabis is so bad why is it you dont hear anything in the news from holland saying "drug crazed man stabbed/killed/robbed a poor innocent person etc'
And im not saying it should be LEGAL because i am a pot head (because i aint smoked it since i had children 11 years ago)
I personally think it is less harmful than Drink, Hear about more innocent people dying because some drunk has killed them than Puff.
DRUNK DRIVERS SHOULD BE LOCKED UP & POT HEADS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PUFF |

Its refreshing to see a little honesty in politics.
Before, they were just lying... |

nope -i don't care either
i do think you're pushing it to talk about honesty coming from the house - the minister in question wouldn't have told anyone if the media hadn't got wind of it |

Not really! I agree that admitting that they have done something, makes a change. Personally I think all drugs should be legalised as people are always going to take them and at least this way they can be regulated and taxed to pay for the re-hab. Most crime is linked to drugs trade, along with legalised drugs such as alcohol and tobacco. |

Cannabis was made illegal a long time ago.Although the law as recently been amended I doubt if many current MP's were around to vote on it when it was first made illegal. Recent research seems to suggest that long term its not wise to take, The MP's are responding to that. Good for them |

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's what kids do.
Bush was elected President after admitting to using cocaine, so pot shouldn't cause a problem either. |

I agree. It's purely a media game. MPs from other parties couldn't give a toss. There but for the grace of God go I...and so on. |
