Do you have any rights if someone blocks your drive with their car?

Are you referring to a long, country-manor style driveway, or just a drive in front of your house off of the pavement?

If the latter is the case I can answer confidently as I have experience with this.

Contrary to popular belief it is in no way illegal to block someone's driveway providing the offending vehicle is stopping the driveway owner from getting in to their drive, and not out.

If the car is preventing you getting on or off the road then it is obstruction of the Highway so that's an offence and the Police can have it towed away.

If you have legal access indicated by a lowered curb into your driveway, you can sue anyone who blocks that right of way across the pavement.
If not, well, not sure, but it woul be very ill mannered

Are you actually planning to drive off anywhere? In that case you have the right to ask the police to remove it, but don't take matters into your own hands, as this could result in all sorts of unfortunate consequences. I had a neighbour who used to let the tyres down, but apart from this being criminal damage, it would mean that you had to wait longer to get the thing removed.

It depends upon where you are, however in most cases it is illegal parking, call the cops. They will tow and impound the car.

The simple answer is yes. If the owner of the offending vehicle can be contacted then they would be told to move the car, with discretion as to whether a Â£30 fixed penalty is issued. If they can't be contacted then the vehicle can be towed for causing an obstruction. It all boils down to using common sense to deal with the problem.

You don't say where you live, but in mosts States/communities in the U.S. if a person is blocking your driveway, you can notify the police and/or call a tow truck for the vehicle to be towed away at the owner's expense.

If this is happening to you, take pictures showing the the vehicle is blocking your driveway, call the Desk Sergeant (not 911 as it is not an emergency), explain to him/her the situation, ask a report taken and tell them that you want to have the car towed. The will tell that you need to get out and that you are going to call a tow truck and request that the owner that is violating the law be charged. They may, or may not send a car out. Regardless, be sure to keep the control number of the report handy.

The pics and control number are in case you do call a tow truck, have the vehicle towed and the person that owns the car tries to sue you, as it will establish that you have met due diligence requirements.

Unless you think the car has been abandoned then unless it is causing a public obstruction, there is little you can do.

yes only if you have the slopes either side or get an old banger and just reverse in to it oops i did not know that you had to look out of the rear window when i reversed in to you car hehehehehehehehe

supposedly, its illegal but i get the same problem day in day out several times a day 7 days a week due to living above a shop and nothing ever gets done about it despite my various efforts.
You can call the police but if the car is not there when they arrive, nothing will get done about it.

yes, call a tow truck and have it moved if you are the owner or tenant of the home, they will sure not do that again due to the fee that they will have to pay.
Just make sure they tow it when the other person is either sleeping or the tow truck driver may be stopped by that person and you may still have a fee to pay.

It is not illegal to park over someones drive...ie the drop kerb on the entrance...HOWEVER if you are parked on your drive and you cannot get off then you can call the police who will try and assist you, this happened to myself and they rang the owner of the car...but couldn't get thru!! That was about as much help as I got! They told me if I touched the car I could potentially be charged with criminal damage!!!
