actually, ya got it backwards, at best. gold is $880. top quality BC hydro is around $250 locally. consider Russian and Iranian caviar = $250 ounce. or consider tickets for final four in '10 = $1200 - $2200.

The government is going to make a wonderful black market for tobacco.
It's going to be cheaper to smoke crack or pot, soon.
The government didn't learn from prohibition of alcohol, they're creating another market for the gangsters and dealers.
But they want to tax everything that moves (and everything that doesn't) so they can give the money away to cronies and special interests and squander the rest, the way that they always do. |

You are so far from the facts it's not funny. Gold closed today at $880.65 an ounce. It's more like an ounce of Gold is worth twice as much (Way more really) than an ounce of weed.

Actually, I think gold is somewhere between $900 and $1,000 an ounce these days. But if you're willing to make a distinction beween cost/price and value, I would point out that gold has no utility whatsoever, only a market price. You can't smoke gold nor can you eat it if you get the munchies. |
